Engineering is all about coming up with the best solutions to any given problem. As humans, we are engaged in a process of future engineering every day. We strive towards goals. We build things we think are needed. We forge friendships and give ourselves to our worlds.

Dreams of a Future is the collection of articles by Alexander Parra. It is primarily focused on the question of creating a better future. That's quite impossible to create unless we dream it up first.

In my works, I draw from my training as a software engineer and as a social scientist. I view these arenas as inseparable. Dreams of a Future will be aimed at providing a way to join these two seemingly disparate fields closer together. Some articles will be focused on technologies, others will be on social processes. And sometimes I'll just log my film rolls. By subscribing, you'll be listening alongside my journey and I'd hope you'd contribute your own thoughts too. Indeed, future engineering can only be a collaborative, community-centric process.
